Feel the ancient spirit – Route 66 – Day 9 (part 1)

Side note – It’s so dry, windy, sunny and hot here…

Things I didn’t realize I needed until the third day desert 🏜️ camping.

Hitting the trail early – Church Rock Trail- in Red Rock Park…

Which way do we go?
You don’t have to be at the beach to walk on sand.

This was a “moderate” path…started deceptively flat…then the climbing

Around every bend was a different vista

Trekking
One end of the trail to the other

The “spires” give this formation its name.

Stick to the path…

Vernon took the pack – cute butt
Watch for cairns they mark the path
Felt like a goat 🐐 path at times!

Looking back the way we came

If you zoom in Tiny Red is in the campground
The wind erased our footprints🦶
The park’s other trail leads to Pyramid Rock, we saw it from the truck 😂
